What equipment will you need to paraglide?

Simply put, you need a paragliding canopy (the glider), a harness in which you will be suspended in a sitting position, a safety helmet (this is mandatory), plus of course your BHPA qualification...
However, you may find yourself investing in "extras" if you are serious about taking the sport up - give us a call to discuss a complete package of equipment tailored to you needs.
First and foremost among these "extras" is a reserve parachute - in case of emergencies, this offers a realistic "second chance" to land safely. If you are going to make the most of your flying and explore the possibilities of extended soaring and thermalling opportunities, you will need a combination Altimeter/Variometer - this nifty instrument tells you when you are going up and down (trickier than you would think), and also tells you how high you are - very important when operating near busy airspace!
Apex also offers a range of books and DVDs which can be very useful in preparing yourself for a course, or revising for the exams!
